QuaQuaQua @ Capital Fringe

In Capital Fringe’s first ever Chamber Music Series, each program will feature musical innovators of the past colliding with unexpected new music from composers of the present, as DC musicians perform everything from Bach and Beethoven to Britten, Ives, Adès and much more.

Performance Three: QuaQuaQua

Baltimore-based trio QuaQuaQua explores the ambiguous terrain at the intersection of musical and theatrical performance. Since its founding in 2015, the group has performed in Baltimore at the Red Room and as part of the 2016 New Music Gathering held at the Peabody Conservatory, making itself known in the city’s thriving experimental music scene. It also recently worked with French composer François Sarhan at a residency at the Avaloch Farm Music Institute, where Sarhan developed new repertoire for the group’s unique aesthetic. Made up of percussionists Terry Sweeney, Adam Rosenblatt, and Tatevik Khoja-Eynatyan, QuaQuaQua is likely to be the most envelope-pushing act in Fringe’s Chamber Music Series.
